A couple of weekends ago Summer and I decided to hit up the local art festival. We really enjoy going to things like this – festivals and what not. It’s nice walking around hand-in-hand with my wife exploring a bunch of new things, people watching, and creating memories. This is just a little something that I worked on today. I enjoy creating the simple, yet effective designs. Although I couldn’t get our actual hand prints, I tried to make one smaller than the other to symbolize a us, a husband & a wife.
Since I was in the text-art mood I found this awesome font, and decided to just type out our site title and see what I could do. This was an interesting little puzzle, and after tons of rotating, and line blending I felt it still needed something … an old paper type look.
While cruising around the web I saw a tutorial on this effect last night and wanted to give it a whirl. I tried to do something dark, and grungy but also have some bright colors. It looks pretty good for rushing through it, but I may re-attempt later.
I decided to sit down and actually starting making things in Photoshop again. Hopefully, this is the first of many. It’s a grunge-style portrait of Summer. Enjoy!
