Wow! This whole day was amazing! I showed up at work and saw my entire desk decorated in Hello Kitty! I loved it so much you don’t even know! The whole day was fun because I was handing out Hello Kitty cupcakes like there was no tomorrow. Work was actually very busy that day because we were short handed by one person and everyone decided to turn in orders right before cut off time. A few people from work joined me at Fudruckers for a birthday lunch and that’s where I discovered the new fountain drink station. The machine looked like something from the movie Wall-E so I ended up standing there for a while trying to figure out how to use the darn thing. After eating our lunch we headed back to work to bust our booties off so we could all leave at the normal time. Of course driving home was extremely exciting because I knew I would soon be sharing my birthday evening with my husband and babies. :)

I pulled in to the garage and I heard Howard yelling, “Don’t look!” as I entered the dimly lit house. I tried my best to keep my focus off of the kitchen since I could  hear him rustling around in there. The girls were so excited to see me so I ran around a little bit with them to pass the time while I waited for Howard to finish up whatever he was making. Finally, Howard was ready and I walked in the kitchen to see my gifts across the room sitting on a lovely table with delicious food. The dinner was so scrumptious and perfect that night, I couldn’t ask for better.

Over the last couple weeks I have, apparently, been growing a “beard”. This started very unintentionally. I didn’t like wake up or see someone else with one and say, “You know, I really want hair on my face.” I literally just didn’t shave for a few days, looked in the mirror and was like … hmm, this isn’t so bad. Since doubting my own opinions seems to be a new hobby of mine I wanted to know what Summer thought. She approves! So I guess it’s full speed ahead on my manly whiskers. I don’t expect to resemble Santa Claus anytime soon, but it is nice to switch up things every now and then. Having done this, I do have a new appreciation for those with thick beards. It’s almost like a ranking system.

We got lost walking around the Riverwalk area and somehow made it to the San Antonio Mall! The mall was a perfect place to cool down after walking so much in the blazing hot sun. After a little A/C we headed back outside to find our bus station because we had to get back to the hotel in enough time to get ready for dinner later. That night was dinner at the Tower of Americas which was amazing. It was so beautiful and delicious I didn’t want to leave! The food was expensive but you had so much tasty food on your plate that it almost didn’t matter. After dinner it was back to the hotel for some much needed rest because the next day was to be full of zoo fun!

The San Antonio zoo was so much fun even though the weather was extremely hot that day. There were all kinds of animal exhibits that differed from the ones at the Houston Zoo. I thought the San Antonio Zoo was supposed to be smaller and boy was I wrong. We were walking all over the place and I was not wearing the right shoes for that. Yeah, I know I should have been wearing tennis shoes but they did not match my dress. The whole experience was so fun and again I did not want to leave. We didn’t get to see the entire Zoo, but from what we did see I was sold on going back a second time.

It was back to the hotel room after a long tiring day. We decided to order pizza that night and have it delivered to our Hotel room. The pizza took about an hour to be delivered and we didn’t get the promotional offer they had promised. Even with that back luck our wonderful day was not ruined. The day ended with us falling asleep to the wonderful sound of the Discovery Channel after eating mounds of sunflower seeds. The whole trip was a success and we loved every second of it.

Sometimes I like to take random photos of my plants outside. I can’t keep any plants alive for very long and that makes me a little sad. However, I have had good luck with cacti recently and I would like to show them off for you!
