I want to chase the ball after you feed me some brownies

Our first plant of the new year, a cactus. We’re not sure exactly how to pronounce his scientific name, but we’re calling him Allen. He is set outside on our metal patio table, and of course Sookie wanted to get to know him.
I’ve been working with Sookie on how to chase, and retrieve, the tennis ball.
Needless to say that she only has the first part down, but every now and then she’ll surprise and drop it by my feet. We started with a small little ball in the backyard and quickly upgraded to a larger one because I don’t think she could see it in the grass.
After a speedy breakfast the family was off to the park, but not before I forgot multiple things in the house which I had to get.
Come to find out, Sookie is such a little daddy’s girl. I left for, not even, 1 minute and Summer said she was flipping out in the car and just going crazy. So we get to the park, and first thing is bathroom breaks. Okay, so that’s done. Instead of just walking around the track this time we were eager to head to the middle grassy area and see how well we had this ball-retrieving-thing down.
It was slow at first, but she was getting the hang of it. You just couldn’t throw it too far or her doggy A.D.D. kicks in and you’re the one chasing the ball each time.
Overall it was one of our best trips! Some dogs did run up to us, and Marla the Killer pretends to act scared and when they least expect it she turns on them, and begins to chase them down. Soon as their a safe distance from her parents she returns to us.
Sookie also experienced her first trip to go get gas & a newspaper which went smoother than I expected. When we got home we all had a nice little nap together on the couch. Which was weird because the girls never want to be next to each
other, and Sookie never wants to sleep when we do. Afterwards, we sprang into action. Summer decided she was in the baking mood, which always puts a smile on my face. Brownies! So I cleaned up, and chased the girls with the vacuum in order to keep them busy so they wouldn’t bother her in the kitchen.
Sookie & Marla had to finally say goodbye to a toy today. After multiple restitching and cotton-stuffings I just don’t think he was going to make it any longer. They easily got over it once I handed them some new bones to chew on.
I did manage to sneak into the kitchen for some taste testing, and upon my arrival I saw this, a cupcake wrapper on top of the closed trash can lid. Apparently, Summer was so busy making & baking that when she went to eat one she thought the lid was open and just dropped this on top. Lol.
To close this night, Summer made us dinner and we sat to watch season 2 of Dexter, which was loosing it’s feel for a minute, but we think it’ll be another great series.
