Turn on the lights so I can eat my salad

Around 8:30 this morning, just as I finished my small lunch that required heating in the microwave, the lights flicker and them BOOM! Pitch black. Not even a backup light kicked on. It was like a modern day rock concert with cell phone lights flying everywhere. A couple seconds pass, and they’re on. Lather, rinse, repeat because this happened about 7 to 8 times. The lights would come on and off for 30 second intervals.
Now, Tuesdays are really Mondays for me so I was extremely busy due to an abundance of oil filter pallets that came in Friday that needed to be stocked. I didn’t have time to stand around like a 9th grade nerd at a dance like some other people in the area. I opened a door to get some outside like inside that dungeon, and continued to work while others stood around like question marks wondering, “OMGz! Are we going home early!?” Lol. They wish. Thanks to someone arriving to work late they were able to inform us that the entire block was without power. Micro-chaos in action. It wasn’t long (30 mintues) until power was restored and we were finally back in business.
While walking in through our garage door and doing my usual greetings to the dogs I receive a text from Walter, a close family friend. He was in the area and wanted to get lunch and without question we met up at Chick-Fil-A. It’s been a little while since we hung out, something about someone never calling someone else … I don’t know, not important, so we talked and swapped manly stories or whatever. We did happened to, again, get the only person working the counter that was shy and stuttering and from the looks of it was new … seeing as she put our orders in to-go bags and nearly spilled our drinks attempting to attach the lids.
