Work on Saturday was a bore. The order was rather small, but due to the recalls we have to order pallets of small parts that I must count to insure other people’s accuracy. So I finish that and secretly head to Chick-Fil-A to grab us some breakfast. I received some coupons for some free chick mini’s (Summer’s favorite), and the whole month of February they were serving free coffee. After setting it up on the breakfast table I woke Summer up and got her out of bed, she was surprised. We enjoyed our food as we watched the Dinosaur King, as weird cartoon that comes on where the dinosaurs dance around like MC Hammer and I get to watch Summer mimic them.

After Marla and I took out the trash can, like we always do I started to load up the car for our weekend ritual of some tennis. It was the perfect day for it. Not too hot, but the air was a little cold and crisp. We practice our serves, among other things and Summer mentioned that she wanted some new tennis outfits, so we formulated a plan. We knew that Grandma Skippy wanted to come see the girls, so we invited her over to watch them, while we were out at Academy shopping for new tennis balls, and skirts. Summer found 2 that she loved, a pink and a white, but we couldn’t find any good shirts.

While the girls were getting full on treats from Grandma we were out on the courts again. She has to test out the new clothes of course. This is when we soon discovered that we should only come and play in the morning hours when no one is around. There were 3 baseball games going on so there were tons of people. Little kids were running by and stealing our tennis balls, even some lady and her son playing next to us had decided to take a brand new one. Rude! Later some guy thought that letting the kids hit some baseballs against a fence right were we playing was a great idea. About 3 of them came over the fence and landed near us; we finally moved. They still didn’t get the hint as they continued to hit them over, but after about the 7th one I think the dad/coach was fed up with them, as were we. I just don’t understand how people, even at a local park, can be so inconsiderate.

Later that night, after our showers, we treated Skippy to some dinner at Friday’s (TGIF). It’s been awhile since we’ve been and they had some new deals, and menu items. Although I ended up getting something cliche (cheeseburger), and whatever Summer ordered she didn’t seem to like. Our waiter was nice and prompt, but a little soft-spoken. We know it’s not his fault but one of our glasses of water had strawberry seeds at the bottom, like it wasn’t washed or someone filled it with the wrong drink and just dumped it out and put water in it. I had asked for the desserts to be bagged separately and instead I got separate checks. I just paid for both, and we went across the street to the mall while our ice cream melted in the car.

We strolled into the Nike store, where we visit frequently for sports apparel, but this time we still couldn’t find any good tennis shirts. As we continued around the circular mall we finally ended up at the Reebok store … 40% everything on a rack! Sweet! My little wife found herself 2 or 3 good shirts that she liked. :D

We tried again Sunday to go play tennis, but while we were out there she didn’t feel too well so the trip was short-lived. We came home and just had a lazy day with the dogs.
